The features of NTC thermsitor

Thermistor is a kind of sensitive elements. According to different temperature coefficient, thermistor can be mainly divided into two types, positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor and negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor. With the increase of temperature, the resistance of PTC thermistor will increase, and the resistance of NTC thermistor will decrease. PTC thermistor and NTC thermistor both belong to semiconductor devices. 
The main characteristics of thermistor are high sensitivity, wide range of working temperature, compact size, easy to use, good stability, strong overload capacity, etc.

NTC thermistor is made up of manganese, cobalt, nickel and copper and other metal oxides. The photo of NTC thermistor is shown in Figure 1. Within the range of working temperature, the main feature of NTC thermistor is that its resistance will decrease with temperature increasing. Based on resistance / temperature characteristics and voltage / current characteristics, NTC thermistor has been widely used in household electrical appliances so as to achieve automatic gain adjustment, over load protection, temperature control, temperature compensation, voltage stability, and so on.
